Estimating ecosystem naturalness using Benford’s Law and Generalized Benford’s Law

چکیده
A new method was proposed to estimate ecosystem naturalness. Three species-plot (S Χ A) datasets were used. Those data sets belong Sultan mountain sub-district (BS) (60 96) Dedegül (BD) (89 119) and, Beyşehir Watershed (B) (98 215) consisting of both the sub-districts. Firstly, chi square test (χ^2 ) applied define statistical goodness fit between first digit observed probabilities (〖d_1 p〗_o and theoretical Benford’s Law (d_1 p_e ). It found that χ^2 (e_BS )=16.579 (e_BD )=2.406. Secondly, find fittest for BS BD, generalized (GB(d;γ)) applied. Minimal values obtained at γ=0.65 γ=0.07 BD respectively (e_BD^γ )=4.992, )=2.209). As expected, sub-districts decreased by Law. The most dramatic decrease occurred in BS. number sample plots are different. Two random iterative processes happened 10000 times therefore performed considering B dataset. a result each sub-district. Average those then used ((_ ^k)(χ^2 ̅ (E_BS^γ )=6.747 (_ (E_BD^γ )=6.176) calculate calibration coefficients Naturalness be 4.992 2.414 due BS= (E_max^γ ))⁄((_ )=1 BD=((_ )=1.093. Since perfect naturalness value is theoretically equal 0, results indicate ecosystems more natural than ecosystems.

Generalizing Benfords Law Using Power Laws: Application to Integer Sequences
A simple method to derive parametric analytical extensions of Benfords law for first digits of numerical data is proposed. Two generalized Benford distributions are considered, namely the two-sided power Benford (TSPB) distribution, which has been introduced in Hürlimann(2003), and the new Pareto Benford (PB) distribution. Based on the minimum chisquare estimators, the fitting capabilities of ...
متن کاملThe generalized distributive law
In this semitutorial paper we discuss a general message passing algorithm, which we call the generalized distributive law (GDL). The GDL is a synthesis of the work of many authors in the information theory, digital communications, signal processing, statistics, and artificial intelligence communities. It includes as special cases the Baum–Welch algorithm, the fast Fourier transform (FFT) on any...
متن کاملThe Law and Policy of Ecosystem Services
Environmental law and public policy arise out of traditional conflicts between different parties interested in the use of air, light, water, and the peaceful surround for competing purposes. For example, the noxious smell of your hog waste ponds ruins the fresh air around my home. Or the shopping center you are planning to build on the banks of Community Creek will in fact cover and destroy 30 ...

متن کاملA Generalized Enhanced Fourier Law
A generalized enhanced Fourier law (EFL) that accounts for quasiballistic phonon transport effects in a formulation entirely in terms of physical observables is derived from the Boltzmann transport equation. It generalizes the previously reported EFL from a gray phonon population to an arbitrary quasi-ballistic phonon mode population, the chief advantage being its formulation in terms of observ...
